Cala d’Or está a 15 kilómetros de Portocolom. Ha recibido diferentes denominaciones, Caló de ses Dones, Cala d’Hort y Cala d’Or. Este último topónimo ha dado nombre finalmente al complejo urbanístico y al enclave costero, también llamado ses Puntetes, el cual está salpicado de pequeñas calas hasta Felanitx.
Esta playa está flanqueada por roquedales de baja altura, termina en un arenal pequeño, coqueto, de grano fino, con poco desnivel y con el fin de aumentar las zonas de solarium se construyeron unas terrazas recubiertas con arena en su parte posterior. Los chalés de la urbanización quedan camuflados en la frondosidad de su pinar.
Este arenal es de los más acogedores y protegidos del oleaje en Santanyí, tanto que tiene un cabo que se prolonga por delante de la línea de costa, lo que sirve de parapeto a esta playa, aunque provoca que desde la orilla no se dispongan de vistas al mar abierto.
Las embarcaciones pueden anclar sobre un fondo de arena y alga, a una profundidad de entre dos y tres metros, aunque esta maniobra se complica cuando haya algo de mar y vientos del este. A 0,2 millas marítimas se encuentra la instalación portuaria más cercana, Port Esportiu Marina de Cala d’Or.
El acceso por carretera es sencillo, aunque si se llega con vehículo particular deberá aparcar por las calles de la urbanización, mientras que la parada de autobús más próxima está a unos 200 metros de la playa. Este hecho unido a la explotación urbanística de Cala d’Or, provoca una afluencia mediana de bañistas.

Cala d’Or is situated at 15 kilometres from Portocolom. It has different names, like Caló de ses Dones, Cala d'Hort and Cala d’Or. This last one is also the name of the coastal village, which is also called ses Puntetes, and which is full of small coves until Felanitx.
The beach is surrounded by rocky areas which are not very high, and it finishes with a small sandy area, beautiful, with fine-grained sand, gentle slope and some terraces that were built in order to create a bigger solarium area. The terraces are at the rear and are also covered with sand. The houses of the village are quite concealed behind the pine wood.
This sandy area is one of the most pleasant and most sheltered ones of Santanyí, there is a cape in front of the coastline, which protects the beach, although from the coast you can't see the open sea.
Boats may anchor on a sandy ground with seaweed, with a depth that ranges from two to three metres, although this manoeuvre is more complicated when the wind is blowing from the east and the sea is less calm. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Esportiu Marina Cala d'Or, at 0,2 nautical miles.
The accessibility by car is easy although you will have to park your private car in the streets of the village, whereas the nearest bus stop is located at 200 metres from the beach. This fact, together with the development of Cala d’Or explains that the beach is not too crowded.

Um die Zonen zum Sonnenbaden zu erweitern, wurden in seinem hinteren Bereich mit Sand bedeckte Terrassen gebaut. Die Häuser der Urbanisation werden durch die Dichte des Pinienwaldes verdeckt.
Dieser Strand ist einer der einnehmendsten und am besten vor den Wellen geschützte in der Zone von Santanyí. Er weist ein Kap auf, das sich über die Küstenlinie hinaus verlängert und einen Schutz bildet, obwohl durch dieses vom Ufer aus kein freier Meerblick möglich ist.
Boote können auf einem Grund aus Sand und Algen in einer Tiefe zwischen zwei und drei Metern ankern, obgleich das Ankermanöver sich bei Meer und Winden aus Ost etwas schwieriger gestalten kann. Die nächst gelegene Hafeneinrichtung befindet sich 0,2 Seemeilen entfernt in Port Esportiu Marina de Cala d’Or.
Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto ist einfach, man folge der Beschilderung; parken kann man in den Straßen der Urbanisation. Man kann auch mit dem öffentlichen Bus fahren; die nächste Haltestelle befindet sich etwa 200 Meter vom Strand entfernt.Diese Charakteristika erklären, zusammen mit der Urbanisierung von Cala d’Or, die mittelhohe Besucherzahl von Badegästen.Top
